By : Chha

In a small place like Jitra, Kedah, there is not much food choice to choose from but it is little known that there is a famous Thai Food Restaurant here in this little calm and peaceful town Jitra !

Sour Plum Chicken Rice RM 6.00

Rung Reang Thai Food Restaurant have been operating here in this so-call hidden spot in Jitra where it is a little off course from the main road of Jitra for many years. If you are not locals here, it might be a little tricky for you to find Rung Reang Thai Food Restaurant. So, if you would like to try out the food here at Rung Reang Thai Food Restaurant, which i think you should at least once try here, haha ! you can always visit this post and get the gps location that will be provided by me, to ease your trip here to find Rung Reang Thai Food Restaurant.

Phat Phat Chicken Rice RM 6.00

The food here in Rung Reang Thai Food Restaurant is really tasty, i come back here to eat again and again and again .. ! Even after many years, i still come back here craving the food here .. ! haha .. My favorite are these two rice, the Sour Plum Chicken Rice and also the Phat Phat Chicken Rice. The chicken for the Sour Plum Chicken Rice is so crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. It taste really good too. While for the Phat Phat Chicken Rice, it is really really spicy, if you like spicy food, then this is a good choice. If i were to rate the spicy level of Phat Phat Chicken Rice here, i would rate it at 8/10 .. ! Both of my favorite food here comes in big portion and is really filling for one person. Rung Reang Thai Food Restaurant does serve other type of dish too, since i am alone dining here, so i order a combo rice, chicken and vegetables like this for one person. You can order more dish if you are here with more people.

AirAsia X "Fly High & Get Rewarded" : Trip to the amazing country Myanmar

By : Chha

When i first receive the email regarding AirAsia X "Fly High & Get Rewarded" contest for the public which is for us bloggers to write about our experience traveling with AirAsia X, it got me thinking .. what are the different between AsiaAsia and AirAsia X ? I have been flying with AirAsia for many years now, i have been to many places with AirAsia. My experience with AirAsia for all these years has been great ! If i were to write about all my destination with AirAsia, it will take me days to finish and the post will be super long, haha ! Anyway, for this post, i am choosing Myanmar ! The reason why i choose Myanmar is simply because Myanmar is an awesome country to visit.

When i first decided to go travel Myanmar, i didn't know where i want to visit. As a free and easy solo backpacker like me, i just wish to take my time and travel without rush. So i went online and start searching for flight tickets with AirAsia. Even with a tight budget, with AirAsia flight, i am able to travel to the places i wish to go. Online flight booking with AirAsia was done without any problem and with ease i am able to buy my tickets in just few minutes time.

AirAsia always offer interesting flight route to interesting places. Going to Myanmar i need to make an over night transit at KLIA2 from Penang Airport. Visiting Myanmar is really interesting, my first stop at Myanmar is in the city of Yangon. I spend a day in Yangon visiting some of their beautiful Temples and Pagoda. One of those famous must visit Pagoda is the Shwedagon Pagoda. Its design is so unique and it is also the most sacred Buddhist pagoda in Myanmar. From Yangon, i travel directly to Inle Lake by taking over night bus which is comfortable to ride in.

Compare to Yangon, Inle Lake is another level of beauty all together it is a freshwater lake located in the Nyaungshwe Township which is far far away from the busy city of Yangon. Here the weather is not as hot as in Yangon and less cars driving around on the street. Nyaungshwe Township is the nearest town to Inle Lake. This area is not a big place but i spend two days here just to enjoy its beautiful view and sunset from the Red Mountain where the Vineyards and Winery are located. People come to the Red Mountin Vineyard to enjoy wonderful wine and awesome sunset scenery. It is kinda romantic actually, haha ! The special thing about Inle Lake is their fisherman where they will fish while standing on one leg balancing at the far end of their boat. This is really something different. The tow major activity that most tourist would do here is taking the boat trip in Inle Lake or cycling around Inle Lake. I did both, which is super awesome !

I feel reluctant to leave Inle Lake even after staying two days there, enjoying my own sweet time cycling around, sipping on wine and enjoying the sunset. Life just feels so calm here, haha ! But then i continue my journey to Bagan, Myanma. I only manage to find a normal bus tickets, so there is no more VIP, comfortable, overnight bus ride to go to Bagan for me. The bus condition is still manageable but the road is bumpy. Journey to Bagan fron Inle Lake takes me one whole day to reach, by the time i reach Bagan, it is already in the late evening. Once i reach Bagan, i look for backpacker hostel, take my dinner and call it a day.

It was at 5.00 am in the morning when i wake up the next day to go and see what is said to be the best and most beautiful sunrise in Myanmar. I choose the most famous Shwesandaw Pagoda to climb up there for its killing view to see the sunrise. Honestly, it is all worth it .. ! With hot-air balloon flying over the Pagoda and the big beautiful sun rising from far. The view is .. awesome, i am speechless just stand in awe of the beautiful mother nature !

Sunrise and sunset in Bagan are the two major things tourist should witness base on my opinion. Other than that, Bagan is all about Pagoda ! There are hundreds or maybe thousand of Pagoda here, ranging from those small Pagodas to those giant big Pagodas. That is the reason why i call Bagan, the City of Pagodas !! haha .. ! I spend two days here riding on an E-Bike that i rent from my hostel to go visit all the Pagodas in Bagan.

After being over loaded with Pagodas for two days in Bagan, i finally decided to go back to Yangon and to sums up my Myanmar trip, i make a day trip to Bago which i think is the hidden gem of Myanmar. Not many tourist know about this place. During my visit, i don't think i saw any tourist around here ! Bago is located 91 kilometres north-east of Yangon. Bago does not have much attraction so a day trip here is more than enough. In Bago, the most famous place to visit is the Shwemawdaw Pagoda, it was packed with locals during my visit. The Kanbawzathadi Golden Palace in Bago used to be a Palace but is now turned into a Museum and it also features amazing Myanmar architecture. The Palace building is in Gold Colour and it is really amazing how people from the past can build such a beautiful place and the architecture is unique !

Jay Chha of Pinky Piglet Land

Hi, ok! How should I start this? My name is Jay, well this sound so awkward, too formal perhaps, haha! Anyway, in blogging, people know me as Jay Chha from Penang. I am the owner of Pinky Piglet Land ( The main focus of my blog is on Food, some Travel and Entertainment. So if you would like to know where to eat ? Where to go ? And what to do ? Feel free to visit my blog, like my Facebook page @jaychhablog ( or follow me on Instagram ( I can be reach via Email (

My Blogging Life :

I started blogging back in year 1997, the time where the word blog was not even popularly used. The first post that I wrote is more about my personal life, something like a diary of what I did daily and I hosted it on which is no longer available right now. Writing HTML code using was really troublesome, so from then, I am constantly in search for a more user friendly platform to post my write up. It was on Thursday, 11 December 2008 where I stumble upon Blogger which was known as Blogspot before they were bought over by Google from Pyra Labs. There I continue writing my blog as my personal diary until I meet a Foodie friend, haha ! Then we both started Pinky Piglet Land on Monday, 17 May 2010.

Pinky Piglet Land :

The history of Piglet's Land goes way back into year 2009 where it started off initially with me and my friend who love to travel and hunt for food. After awhile, we feel that the photo that we took during our food hunt and traveling is taking up a lot of space in our hard disk without serving any purpose. Then we thought, why not we share our photos with the world ? Therefore in year 2010, which is when we write our first post for this blog. We officially started Pinky Piglet Land.

Why The Name Pinky Piglet Land ?

Haha, many people ask me, whats up with the name ? Haha ! Ok, my blogging friend used to call me Piglets because I was really fat back then. I love to eat and sleep most of the time, haha ! Typical piglets right ? The name got stuck with me though I am not as fat as I used to be after many years of heavy work out and strict diet. Me and my blogging friend thought that, piglets would be the best way for us to represent ourselves as someone who love to eat in the blog and since pink piglets is cute, we end up using the name Pinky Piglet Land.

Blogging as Myself, Jay Chha :

Pinky Piglet Land blog start to change direction on Monday, 10 August 2015 when my blogging friend decided to leave blogging in Pinky Piglet Land to pursue something else more important. Ever since then, I am taking full charge of the blog myself and started changing it to my own blog. I started changing the blog design, the blog writing method and even taken away the name Pinky Piglet Land and name it after myself as Jay Chha.

Blogging and taking photos has always been something that I love doing. Sharing food hunt information with people, giving ideas on traveling, providing tips on places for entertainment and meeting new people along the way is always fun. It is something that I see myself doing for many more years to come.

I am always open for collaboration, review, advertorial and events write up. Feel free to drop a comment or two at my Facebook and Blog or drop me an Email. Looking forward to hear from you all soon.

Khoon Pastry House @ Argyll Road, Penang

By : Chha

Khoon Pastry House looks like a normal pastry house which is located at Argyll Road in Georgetown, Penang. Probably not many know that Khoon Pastry House actually serve main course as well other than just pastry.

I really enjoy the interior of Khoon Pastry House, it is simple and comfortable. Enjoy dining here .. ! Not many seating place here so sometimes when it is full, you might need to wait for seating place.

Other than selling yummy pastry, they also have Hainanese Chicken Rice which is my favorite.

Hainanese Chicken Rice RM 12.90

It is just a simple plate of Hainanese Chicken Rice but the chicken is soft and the sauce on it is tasty. Simple and delicious, i like it !

Creamy Mushroom Chicken Chop RM 17.90

This is not your everyday ordinary Creamy Mushroom Chicken Chop, there is a lot of gravy being put onto this plate of Creamy Mushroom Chicken Chop making it not dry like any other Chicken Chop i tried else where. The outer layer of the Chicken Chop is crunchy while the inner part is soft making it tasty.

Spring Rolls (1 Rolls) RM 7.50

I did not expect a single roll of Spring Roll could be so big in size, haha !

Khoon's Special RM 10.90

Khoon's Special is actually desert made out of fruits and ice cream.

Food Architect @ Lorong Kampung Malabar, Penang

By : Chha

I know you would definitely go crazy, if i tell you that the pasta can fly ! Well it is true .. ! At Food Architect, pasta really do fly .. haha !

Golden Salted Egg Pasta (Flying) RM 24.50
(Spaghetti cooked with garlic white wine, black olives, cherry tomatoes, shimeiji mushrooms, creamy golden salted egg sauce and topped with ham fries)

Would you just look at the spoon, there is no hand holding it .. what sorcery is this ? hahaha ! Curious to know how this is done ? Well, you will need to visit Food Architect to find out .. I have the answer but i don't think it is good to share a magic's secret right ? hahaha !

Carbonara (Flying) RM 24.50

The main thing that attract me to Food Architect is their flying pasta but of course, other than that, Food Architect does serve other tasty food too. If you are not a fan of this flaying pasta thing, you still can order other food to eat. If you still insist of having pasta as your meal, you can actually order a non-flying pasta. To have a flying pasta you will need to pay additional RM 3.00 in order for them to do their magic and turn their ordinary pasta to a flying pasta.

Golden Salted Egg Pasta RM 21.50

Thai Pork RM 18.90
(Pork chop glazed with thai chilli dressing served with rice and fried egg and salad)

The weird thing is i don't see any rice in the Thai Pork Chop, where my rice go ? T.T !

Cordon Bleu RM 21.90

Mushroom Soup RM 9.90

Milo Tower (Large 4.0 Liters) RM 28.90

Here you can also order a tower of milo, haha ! I ordered a tower of beer before at other place but this is the first time i order a tower of milo here at Food Architect, haha ! This tower of milo is enough for 10 person. Even though the milo come in a tower but the taste is still good. Not too bland not to thick, just nice !

I love the food here, especially their Thai Pork which cost RM 18.90. Their flying pasta and milo tower is definitely unique. Mushroom soup and the bread that comes with it is awesome as well. There are also Peri-Peri Chicken (RM 19.90) and Italian Schnitzel (RM 19.90).

Yong Tau Foo @ N & N Food Court, Sungai Petani

By : Chha

There is this hawker stall in N and N Food Court Sungai Petani where i enjoy eating Yong Tau Foo. This Yong Tau Foo stall is also serving rice, noodles, koey teow and yam rice. You can choose either to have plain soup or tomyam soup.

The price for this plate of Yong Tau Foo is depending on what ingredient you choose and the quantity you have taken. For me, i feel that the taste is just average but i still enjoy eating here because i can choose to mix and match the ingredient i want, haha !!

By : Chha

Probably not many people are aware of this but the Eld's 22 Pasta And Grill which was previously located inside of Gurney Paragon has now moved to Persiaran Bayan Indah, which is opposite of Queensbay Mall.
